The council will consider approval of the Berkeley Pier ferry project and its environmental review, design standards for development at Ashby BART’s west parking lot, and land transfers supporting housing at North Berkeley BART. Other major topics include police surveillance technology, audits of staffing shortages and city contracting, and the expiration of a temporary cannabis business tax exemption. Proposed funding includes $1.5 million for behavioral health early intervention services and roughly $2.3 million for programs addressing sugary-drink consumption, alongside grant requests for a new West Berkeley park and a University Avenue transportation study.
